My Unconventional Approach to Managing Stress
I’ve been putting off therapy for a while now. The crypto market never stops and my mind keeps racing due to PTSD and the constant fear of missing important news.
To deal with this, I started a daily crypto digest newsletter three months ago. It’s like turning my sleepless nights into something useful.
Here’s what I’ve noticed so far:
- Reading tons of news daily doesn’t make me feel more informed
- Writing summaries helps clear my mind
- I feel behind as soon as I finish the newsletter
- Getting a thank you email feels really good
I’m sharing this to keep myself accountable and see what happens. It’s part experiment, part way to deal with my thoughts.
For those who’ve dealt with side projects, PTSD, or information overload:
- How do you stop your work from taking over your life?
- Does making a product out of your obsession help or make it worse?
- What tells you it’s okay to keep going?
I’m looking for honest feedback, not comfort. I’ll update tomorrow with what happens next.
hey there dancingcloud! gotta say, your newsletter idea is pretty clever. turning those restless nights into something productive, that’s awesome. but i’m kinda curious - have you thought about how this might be affecting your overall wellbeing?
like, don’t get me wrong, it’s great you’re channeling that energy, but are you giving yourself any downtime? maybe try setting aside a few hours each day where you completely disconnect from crypto stuff? could help clear your head a bit.
also, have you considered joining any support groups for people dealing with ptsd? might be helpful to chat with others who get what you’re going through. just a thought!
anyway, keep us posted on how things go. rooting for ya!
hey man, i feel ya. been there with the crypto rollercoaster. that newsletter idea? pretty smart actually. but dont forget to take care of urself too. maybe try setting some boundaries? like, no crypto after 8pm or something. its tough but gotta find that balance ya know. keep at it tho, sounds like ur onto something good!
I can relate to your situation. Turning anxiety into productivity is a double-edged sword. While it’s commendable that you’ve channeled your energy into a newsletter, it’s crucial to address the root cause of your stress. Consider setting strict time limits for your crypto-related activities. Perhaps allocate specific hours for research and writing, then force yourself to disconnect. This might help create a healthier balance.
Regarding your questions, work-life balance is challenging in crypto due to its 24/7 nature. However, it’s essential to establish boundaries. Making a product from your obsession can be beneficial if it provides structure, but be cautious of it exacerbating your anxiety. As for knowing when to continue, monitor your mental health closely. If the newsletter brings more stress than satisfaction, it may be time to reassess.
Remember, seeking professional help is still a valid option alongside your current coping mechanisms.
