Crypto Mining Operation in North Tonawanda Eyes Nuclear Power Option

North Tonawanda residents and officials question a crypto mining firm’s plan to power its facility with mini nuclear reactors. Concerns include safety, waste management, noise, and zoning restrictions.

hey all, i’m super curious abt this mini-nuke crypto mining idea. it seems like it culd be a game changer, but then safety and waste mgt. issues kinda freak me out… has anyone looked into how these reactors compare to usual energy sources in terms of long-term risks? i mean, in a small reg like north tonuawanda, what got people hyped for these and what might they be scrolling past? also, is their plan really as economic as they say, or are we just reading flashy pitch decks? would luv to hear any more info or other peoples insights on this one!

hey, im not sold on the mini nukes for crypto mining. sure, it sounds cool, but combining crypto’s ups and downs with nuclear risks feels like a gamble. safety, waste disposal, there’s too many doubts for my taste
