Hi everyone! I’m looking to jump back into the crypto world after being away for a while. I used to own some Ethereum and Cardano back in 2019 but sold everything and took a break from trading. Now I’m thinking about getting back in and wondering if these two coins are still good investments today.
I’ve been out of the loop for so long that I’m not sure what’s changed in the market. Are ETH and ADA still solid picks for someone getting back into crypto? Also, what other cryptocurrencies would you recommend for someone in my situation? I’m looking for coins with good potential but not too risky since I’m just getting back into this. Any advice would be really helpful!

Ethereum transitioned to proof-of-stake in 2022, which is more energy-efficient and allows for staking rewards. There’s increased competition from coins like Solana and Polygon, which are gaining traction. Cardano has finally implemented smart contracts, although its growth hasn’t matched initial predictions. When re-entering the market, consider dollar-cost averaging into established coins rather than investing a large amount upfront. Bitcoin has matured significantly due to increased institutional investment. Regulatory environments have also evolved, so be aware of local tax implications before proceeding. Given the market’s volatility, start with smaller investments to regain your footing.

What made you sell everything back then? Was it the crazy volatility or just life stuff? I’m curious because knowing why you left might help figure out how to get back in.
When you say “not too risky” - you thinking about sticking with Bitcoin and Ethereum this time? Or are you open to checking out the new stuff? DeFi and NFTs blew up while you were gone, plus there’s been huge progress with layer 2s and cross-chain stuff.

eth’s still solid, but ada’s been a letdown lately. if you’re jumpin back in, check out sol or matic - they’re actually movin while ada just stagnates. don’t dump everything in tho, this market’s still wild.
