I’m completely new to the world of digital currencies and feeling pretty lost right now. Every time I try to research online, there’s just too much info and I don’t know what’s reliable or where to begin.
I already turned on the crypto feature in my Revolut app but haven’t made any moves yet. I’m not making much money at my current job, but I’m hoping things get better soon so I can put more funds toward this.
My main goal is to grow my savings over time. Right now my income isn’t great but I want to start learning the basics while I can.
Any advice on the first steps would be awesome. Thanks for any help you can give me.
I get that overwhelmed feeling - was there 2 years ago and it’s definitely intimidating at first.
Since you’re not making much right now, what percentage of your income could you afford to lose? Sounds scary but it really helped me figure out my comfort zone.
What got you interested in crypto? Investment potential or friends/social media? Your motivation might help others give better advice.
Have you checked Revolut’s educational resources? Some apps have decent beginner guides built in, though I’m not sure about Revolut specifically.
What’s your timeline? Long-term (years) or hoping for quicker results? That’ll shape which direction people suggest.
Sorry for all the questions lol, but a clearer picture would help the community give better guidance! No rush to jump in before you’re ready.
Education first, money second - that’s the way to go. I jumped in too fast when I started and paid for it with some painful losses. Since you’re tight on cash right now, learn the basics before buying anything. Bitcoin and Ethereum are good starter choices since they’re established, but don’t rush into purchases yet. Revolut works fine but those fees pile up, especially on small buys. Use it for learning at first. Only invest 5-10% of what you can afford to lose completely - crypto isn’t like stocks where you might bounce back from losses. This market’s crazy volatile and unpredictable. I’ve watched people get wrecked chasing quick money. Your timeline’s huge here. Planning to hold 3+ years? That’s completely different from wanting results in a few months. Spend time learning about market cycles, different coins, and basic security before you buy anything. The opportunity isn’t disappearing, but bad early moves will cost you.
revolut’s decent for beginners, but their spread hits hard on small amounts. since you’re learning, try paper trading first - plenty of apps let you practice with fake money. when you’re ready for real trades, bitcoin’s your safest bet. don’t stress about missing out. crypto isn’t disappearing, and rushing usually costs you more than being patient.
