New to cryptocurrency learning - need guidance on proper approach and potential earnings

Hey everyone! I’m just getting started with learning about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. There’s so much conflicting information online that it’s hard to know what sources to trust. I’m not interested in get-rich-quick schemes or anything like that - I genuinely want to build a strong foundation of knowledge.

I keep seeing people make costly mistakes because they jumped in without proper understanding. What would you consider the most effective learning path for someone completely new to this space? Also, is it realistic to eventually generate steady income from crypto activities?

For those with experience, if you could restart your crypto journey with the knowledge you have now, what would be your initial move?

Begin your cryptocurrency journey by thoroughly understanding the fundamentals. Spend time delving into whitepapers, grasping concepts like consensus mechanisms and blockchain architectures before making any investments. Books by Andreas Antonopoulos are a valuable resource.

When it comes to generating income, consider your goals. Many people struggle with trading and find more success in long-term holding or staking. Personally, I’ve experienced more growth by focusing on holding rather than pursuing immediate income. One important lesson I learned early was to meticulously track taxes; maintain detailed records from the outset. Lastly, it’s crucial to invest only what you can afford to lose, as the market can be unpredictable.

best advice? start tiny - like $20-50 max. just focus on learning wallets and exchanges first. youtube’s great for basics, but skip the hype channels. don’t expect quick money tho. took me 2 years to see consistent gains, and even now it’s not exactly steady income. crypto’s way too volatile for that.

Interesting question @LiamDragon22! What kind of conflicting info are you seeing? Technical stuff or investment contradictions?

I’ve been in crypto for a while and your approach is refreshing - most people jump straight into trading without learning the basics first. What drew you to crypto? The tech or the money?

Figure out what interests you most. Blockchain mechanics? DeFi protocols? NFTs? Investing? Your learning path depends on your goals.

Steady income is a loaded question lol. What’s “steady” to you? Crypto and steady don’t usually mix  There are ways to generate income though - what’s your timeline and risk tolerance?

Are you hands-on yet or still researching? Sometimes you learn best by actually using small amounts.
