Hey everyone,
I’m looking to get into staking cryptocurrencies, especially ATOM. Can anyone recommend a good wallet for this? I’ve heard mixed things about different options.
Also, I’m curious about people’s experiences with staking. Has anyone here ever been slashed while staking their crypto? It sounds scary and I want to know how common it is.
Lastly, I’m trying to understand the difference between liquid staking and native staking. Which one do you think is better and why?
Thanks in advance for any insights you can share!
I’ve been staking ATOM for about a year now, and it’s been a positive experience overall. For wallets, I’d recommend looking into Ledger hardware wallets paired with Keplr or Cosmostation. This setup provides an extra layer of security for your assets.
Regarding slashing, it’s a relatively rare occurrence if you choose reputable validators. In my time staking, I’ve never been slashed. The key is to select validators with a good track record and high uptime.
As for liquid vs. native staking, both have their merits. Native staking generally offers higher yields but comes with lockup periods. Liquid staking provides more flexibility but often at the cost of slightly lower returns. Personally, I prefer native staking for long-term holds and liquid staking for assets I might need access to in the short term.
Remember to diversify your validator choices to minimize risks. Good luck with your staking journey!
yo luna_dreamy, i’ve been staking ATOM for a while now. keplr’s good but i prefer cosmostation - super user-friendly. never been slashed (fingers crossed lol) but it’s pretty rare tbh. liquid staking’s cool cuz u can use ur assets while staked, but native might b safer. depends on ur risk tolerance imo. good luck!
hey luna_dreamy! staking crypto is super interesting, right? i’ve been doing it for a while now and it’s pretty cool to watch your coins grow
for ATOM staking, have you checked out keplr wallet? it’s what i use and it’s been working great for me. super easy to set up and use.
i’ve never been slashed myself (thank goodness!) but i’ve heard it’s pretty rare if you choose a reliable validator. just make sure to do your research on validators before picking one.
as for liquid vs native staking, i’m still trying to wrap my head around it too lol. from what i understand, liquid staking lets you use your staked assets while they’re locked up, which sounds pretty neat. but native staking might be safer? idk, what do you think?
anyone else have experience with both? would love to hear more opinions on this!
